Power Machines to Manufacture Power Equipment for the Ruppur NPP in Bangladesh

Power Machines and JSC "Directorate of Integrated Order of NPP Equipment" signed a contract for the manufacture and delivery of primary and auxiliary equipment of two 1200 MW power units for the Ruppur NPP.

"The experience of large-scale projects implemented in the nuclear power industry allows us to be confident that the contract will be fulfilled in time, and in view of all the customer's requirements and expectations.”

Alexei Chernyakhovsky, PJSC Power Machines Director for Nuclear Power Engineering, states that under the contract terms, Power Machines will design, manufacture and deliver two sets of steam turbines, condensers and stand-alone auxiliary equipment for the turbo unit systems, as well as two sets of turbogenerators with auxiliary systems equipment, field systems and exciters.

The Power Machines will also deliver heat exchange and pump equipment, pipework and the necessary accessories. Furthermore, Power Machine’s building company will carry out supervision of installation and commissioning work at the NPP site in respect of all the delivered equipment.

The completion of equipment deliveries for power unit No. 1 is scheduled for 2020, and for power unit No. 2 - in 2021. The State Corporation Rosatom plans to launch the first Ruppur NPP power unit in 2022, with power unit No. 2 to be launched in 2023.

1200 MW High-speed steam turbines and turbogenerators were developed by Power Machines with a view to the new extra reliable and safe 3+ generation nuclear power units created in the RF. The Power Machines has manufactured similar equipment for Leningrad NPP-2 and Novovoronezh NPP-2, as well as for the first power unit of the Byelorussian NPP.
