Power Machines Has Manufactured the Second Turbine for Kazakhstan's Largest TPP

Power Machines has manufactured and successfully tested a 130 MW turbine intended for the LLC Kazakhmys Energy TPP (Kazakhstan). The turbine’s delivery to the power plant site is scheduled for May 2018.

The contract for the manufacture and delivery of equipment for the modernization of four TPP power units was signed in October 2014 with the LLC Kazakhmys Energy. In compliance with their contractual obligations, Power Machines will deliver four sets of equipment to the TTP, each comprising a steam turbine and a turbogenerator with a capacity up to 130 MW, and heat exchange equipment made by the Krasny Kotelshchik Taganrog Boiler-Building Plant (a member of the Power Machines group).

Power Machines will also render supervised installation services and deliver three 175 MVA, 110 kV transformers made by LLC Power Machines - Toshiba. High-Voltage Transformers, a joint venture between Power Machines and the Toshiba corporation.

As a result of the modernization of the four power units, the total capacity of the power plant will increase by 210 MW.

The first set of equipment for the Kazakhmys Energy TPP was delivered in October 2016. At present, manufacturing of the third and the fourth sets of equipment is underway at Power Machines’ production sites. The completion of delivery is scheduled for October 2019.
