Power Machines has installed transformers on one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in Russia and in the world

Power Machines – Toshiba. High-Voltage Transformers Joint Venture, a part of Power Machines Group, has completed the supply of auto-transformers intended for the modernization of a substation at the Krasnoyarsk Hydroelectric Power Plant of EuroSibEnergo.

The contract for the designing, manufacture, and supply of three auto-transformers with a voltage of 220 kV and a capacity of 63 MVA each was signed with EuroSibEnergo in December 2015. The obligations of the Russian-Japanese company also include the provision of services for equipment installation supervision.

The first auto-transformer was delivered, assembled, and commissioned in 2016. The second one is now under construction, which is expected to be completed in May this year. The third — backup — auto-transformer is designed to replace any of the working auto-transformers in the event of failure or accident, or during capital repairs.

In addition to the supply of transformer equipment, Power Machines is currently manufacturing two impellers for the upgrading of the radial-axial hydroelectric units of the Krasnoyarsk HPP.

The new impellers that will be put into operation at the HPP as a result of the project will help increase the efficiency of each hydroelectric unit from 95.3% to 96.7%.

The delivery of the impellers is scheduled for August this year.
