On January 24, 2017, a working meeting took place between Emilio Lozada Garcia, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Russian Federation, and Roman Philippov, General Director (CEO) of Power Machines Publicly Traded Company during the ambassador’s visit to the company’s facilities in St. Petersburg.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the matters relating to cooperation of Power Machines and the Republic of Cuba, as well as the prospects of increasing the company’s presence in the Cuban market, and further work on the contract for delivery of turbine generator equipment for Cuba’s Maximo Gomez TPP.
Emilio Lozada Garcia pointed out that Cuban power generating facilities required upgrade, and that the first joint project with Power Machines power plant concern was extremely important for the country.
Roman Philippov, General Director (CEO) of Power Machines Publicly Traded Company underlined that the company fully meets the customer’s requirements and lives up to the customer’s expectations while relying on its vast engineering experience and expertise as well as the state-of-the-art technological capability.

Maximo Gomez TPP with installed capacity of 600 МW (four power generating units, 50 МW each, and four power generating units, 100 МW each) has been in operation since 1968. After 35 years’ service, the 50 MW power generating units were recognized to be low tech equipment and were dismantled during 2010 - 2011.
The contract for project design, manufacturing and delivery of the turbine, generator and condenser for Cuban TPP Unit No. 6 with the capacity of 100 МW was concluded by Power Machines with SES Tlmače (Slovakia), general contractor for plant renovation.
In accordance with the contract, the technicians of the Russian power engineering corporation are to provide erection supervision services for the equipment delivered. The delivery is due to start in the second quarter of 2017. Delivery completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2018.
