On February 9, А. Beglov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Western Federal Area paid a visit to Power Machines where he met with employees, members of the St.Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry and representatives of the regional branch of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
During the meeting, topical issues relating to development of the region’s industry were under discussion.
Alexander Beglov pointed out that the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin had underlined the following message on many occasions: the development of industry is the country’s strategic task, key to development of the social sphere and improvement of people’s life quality.
The plenipotentiary envoy of the President dwelt on the government measures being implemented in the country to support industry aimed at exploring additional opportunities for technological development under current conditions among which is support for promising projects for the manufacture of products with high level of sophistication as well as export oriented products, training and re-training personnel for real economy sectors:
— The country has been forging stepwise ahead to put in place the conditions for use of state-of-the-art technologies in production, which constitutes a guarantee for competitive and innovative industry. Tangible resources are being allocated towards upgrading and setting up new production operations. Thus, for instance, in 2017, 262 bln Rubles was allocated from the Federal budget for such purposes, — said the envoy.
Alexander Beglov emphasized that Power Machines Publicly Traded Company, being manufacturer of high technology equipment, which ensures energy security of the key infrastructure projects, is of great importance to the country. It is required that all the conditions be provided to give the company additional opportunities for technological development in the new environment, to retain the social guarantees granted to the company’s team of employees.
Yuri Petrenya, General Director (CEO) of Power Machines spoke of the technological, social and organizational aspects of the activities pursued by this engineering industry enterprise. Vladimir Katenev, Chairman of the Council of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Deputy to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, drew the audiences’ attention to the potential inherent in the enterprises of St. Petersburg which needed to be tapped, having made a special mention of the important role played by the government participation in developing the cluster.
